PET bottle pressure considerations for carbonated filling.

PET carbonated drink projects should be specified around the actual bottle, cap and carbonation target rather than nominal bottle size alone.

A carbonated PET bottle project needs real bottle and cap samples. Even where the label says 500 ml, bottles can differ in pressure performance, base shape, grip areas, neck finish, cap compatibility and stability on conveyors.

  • Confirm whether the line needs filler only or filler plus screw capper.
  • Check whether rinse, cap feeding, labelling and coding are required.
  • Plan cap torque and leak checks as part of acceptance rather than after installation.

Should the capper be specified with the filler?

Yes. Screw capping should be planned with filling because closure speed and torque affect pressure retention.

What samples are needed?

Bottle, cap, label if relevant, product sample and target carbonation information are the minimum practical inputs.

Can PET and glass run on the same line?

Some line elements may overlap, but bottle handling, closure route and tooling need separate checks.
