Bottle closure should be specified with the filler because the transfer from fill to cap affects carbonation, oxygen and presentation.
Crown-capped beer, cider and sparkling drinks depend on a suitable bottle finish, correct crown size, stable handling and a capper or crowner matched to the line. The route should account for foam, headspace and any oxygen-control requirement before the quotation is finalised.

- Use crown capping for suitable beer, cider and sparkling drink bottles where that closure is specified.
- Use screw capping or ROPP capping where the bottle and market format require it.
- Confirm whether closure equipment is standalone or integrated with the filler.
A bottle sample without the final closure is not enough for a complete review. Send crowns, caps or ROPP closures together with the bottle, product and output requirement so Lancing can check filling and capping as a single route.

Sometimes, but the filler layout, transfer height, container handling and output should be planned with future capping in mind.
Is crown capping suitable for PET bottles?
No. PET soft-drink bottles normally use a screw closure route rather than crown capping.
Do I need a cap sample?
Yes. The cap, crown or closure sample is as important as the bottle sample.
Can bottle capping affect oxygen pickup?
Yes. Delay, foam behaviour and closure method can influence headspace and packaged oxygen results.
