Deaeration before carbonated drink filling.

Consider oxygen control before the filler when product preparation, carbonation and shelf-life requirements affect the final pack.

For beer, cider and some RTDs, oxygen pickup may affect shelf life or flavour. For soft drinks and sparkling water, product preparation can include water treatment, mixing, chilling, carbonation and sometimes oxygen reduction. The correct route depends on the recipe, existing process and acceptance method.

A compact can-filling route, a local trial line or a short-shelf-life product may not justify the same preparation equipment as a high-output oxygen-sensitive line. The right decision comes from product risk, production scale, measurement method and finished-pack expectations.

Is deaeration the same as carbonation?

No. Deaeration reduces oxygen before or during product preparation. Carbonation dissolves CO₂ into the drink. A project may need one, both or neither depending on the process.

Can the filler solve all oxygen problems?

No. A filler can reduce some oxygen pickup, but upstream tanks, product transfer, package purging and closure timing also matter.

Should I measure DO or TPO before requesting a quote?

If oxygen is a quality risk, current measurements or target limits are useful. If they are not available, state that they are unknown so the trial plan can address them.
